It is plug N play.

When my starter/solenoid is on the fritz, most of the time, mine will start
without holding the start button. That's just a solenoid trip and not part
of the ignition circuit. I have coaxed my starter into motivation by holding
the start button while kick-starting. Not entirely sure what that indicates,
but it's only occurred once or twice. Bill S.
