The early C70 have 6Vwith points ignition , the 1982-84 have 12V and CDI.
The early C70 might be a little faster when you have good wiring and good points.
The CDI is basically worry & maintenance free. Both need good contacts and grounds to run right.
They both work the battery and need water checked all the time.
I like the 1982-84 C70 but I have a 1981 to fix up to try a side by side comparison.

Subject: [Honda-C70] CDI or Points?
Is there any real advantage in having an '82 or '83 Passport with CDI vs. earlier ones with ignition points and condenser? Also, do all Passports have a 6 volt system or did they go with 12 volts at some point in time? TIA,
Bill in Seattle
