Something worth considering is rim size to tire size ( width ) . it`s been
awhile since i`ve been in the business but memory tells me there is a
maximum tire to rim spec. I believe the ct90 has a wider rim. Maybe someone
knows the specs. I am pretty sure the 2.50 is within tolerance though. Best

I have a CT110 Trail (the successor to the CT90) and the stock dual sport
tire size is 2.75 x 17. But, I couldn't get that size for replacements at a
reasonable price so I ordered Shinko SR244s one size larger at 3.0 x 17. The
3.0 fit the rear wheel without a problem but 3.0 was just a bit too big for
the front wheel so I had to go down to 2.50 x 17 for the front. Based on my
experience, I'm thinking you might be able to go up to 2.50 for your
Passport but rear wheel only. In any event, measure the clearance between
inner fender and tire carefully as appearances can be deceiving. I thought I
was going to have enough clearance for the front but when the 3.0 tire was
mounted and inflated, it was just too tight a fit. I wasn't able to return
it because it was technically a "used" tire so if anybody needs a 3.0 x 17
knobby dual sport that never saw the ground, I'll make you a heck of a good
deal.
