Re: [Honda-C70] CDI or Points?

I have both 6 volt and 12 volt models aand believe me the '83 I have with CDI and 12 volt is so much more relaible and smoother.  There is no drama.  Everything works brighter and stronger (eg lights, horn, starter, etc.).

The 6 volt is a bit of a gamble when I want to ride.  Will the starter work?, Feeble lights, points that need adjustment.

When the 6 volt is tuned perfectly, with a frsh battery, it is a joy to ride;  but if my life depended on getting from point A to B it's the '83 for me.

Subject: [Honda-C70] CDI or Points?

Is there any real advantage in having an '82 or '83 Passport with CDI vs. earlier ones with ignition points and condenser? Also, do all Passports have a 6 volt system or did they go with 12 volts at some point in time? TIA,

Bill in Seattle
