[Honda-C70] Re: High Mileage

My take on this is simple, ITS TO HIGH!
These bikes sold like VW's did in the 70's there all over the place. I would never pay over 1K for a good looking, low mile runner. Just keep at it you will find what your looking for. Stay away from Ebay. Seems all C70's on Ebay try to sell for 2K what they actually get is closer to 1K. Local adds, Private party is your best bet.
Or you can do what I did. I had a long forgotten left outdoors C70. $400 latter shes my daily rider! And she looks great! I have before and after pics here. You have one great thing going for you the 4 stoke C70 is hands down the best combustion engine ever made. They just don't die. I don't care what the miles are. Parts are still available. Rings, Valves & pistons can be bought for under $80. The engine is no more complicated then a lawn mower engine. Don't be afraid of a high miler. Just get the best price.

On the other hand, they will also have more wear and tear from actual use. they also often have some abuse from having to get to work every day, letting maintenance slip a little, running it a little longer than you should with the issue.
