RE: [Honda-C70] Running Hot?

Havoc : Yes c70 motors are 4cycles & run hot enough to burn you. 2 cycles with their constant flow of fuel/air mix through the crankcase run cooler. A hoter plug is for cold weather use or a motor that is burning lots of oil ,bad valve guides or rings. High test gas is not needed . Baby Huey`s 2 cents

First, no reason to run hightest in these little bikes, second , go back to a stock plug. if you are using the choke for other than starting it, you have a fuel delivery problem. could be an air leak. Set the bike up the way it was originally, then tell us how it runs.

I have had my C70 running for a few months now. It starts up just fine. Timing & oil level is were it should be, 1982 CDI. But I notice with my new (cheap) carb it needs alot of choke. (larger jet size). But It also seems to be running real hot. After I ride my C70 for about 10mins. I can not touch the lower part of the engine, Its just to hot. Should it be this hot? other then I'm choking it more then ever before and longer, It runs strong at 50mph with no problems. Just wondering if it should be this hot. I run high grade fuel in it. Should I go to lower grade? I'm running 1 grade hotter plug. Is that the problem? Or is there a problem? Should it run this hot?
