Dear Rich,
I for one would LOVE to get my hands on that 6 volt relay in order to fix my
no crank problem. Please send me the info. And tell me, where and how did
you install it? Thanks,

Subject: RE: [Honda-C70] No crank or intermittent crank Passport fix
I've read a number of posts on this topic and the one consistent item
required for the auto starter to work is a well charged battery.
After not riding my '81 for 20 yrs the Honda dealer got it up and
running (new battery, fully charged) but they said the solenoid would
not work.
Well after riding around a bit I sprayed some DW40 on the contacts.
Zing, contact and start.
So check the contacts/clean. Maybe these
two things help. Didn't need to add relays/wires etc. Of course some
bikes may have been stored outdoors or had other issues that may have
a bearing on the solenoids condition and performance.
Hope this helps.

I have a 1981 Passport (6 volt system), and have been fighting the
dreaded intermittent no-crank. The symtoms are a green nuetral light
that dims when you hit the starter button, but does not crank or even
click. If the shift lever is raised slightly (on my bike), it cranks.
It will also crank if you kick the side of the engine! What I have
found is that there is not enough current carrying capacity from the
starter solenoid near the battery, all the way up to the handlebar
switch and back down through the nuetral switch to chassis ground. It
only works when it wants to. As simple fix is to install a small 6 volt
relay near the solenoid that uses the starter button ground as a signal
to connect the yellow/green wire from the solenoid directly to chassis
ground. problem solved!
I have a line on the 6 volt relays if anyone is having similar problems
and wants to cure it. They are not easy to find.
