RE: [Honda-C70] At whits end!

What else could I be missing ? Every thing NOT related to the carb . You seem to have beaten this horse [carb] to death ,now find the REAL problem . Put the carb back to its original setting & move on to other things . Some one said "most carbutator problems are electrical " . I cleaned my carb twice & adjusted the points air gap on my 81 when it was running poorly in 2010. It finally would not start & had no spark at the plug . After 8 months of me trying every thing I could think of [coil points condenser tappet adjust unplugged every wire cleaned & tightened] I gave up & hauled it to a small Honda bike repair shop . The mechanic cleaned the points with a rag wet with brake cleaner . Still no spark . So he put on a new spark plug cap & said it started on the 2nd kick . And yes it looked like my plug was showing a lean condition ,that is why I cleaned the carb twice. Spark plug cap was $3 labor & knowledge what to fix was $ 50 & worth every penny to me . Good Luck ! Subject: [Honda-C70] At whits end!

Bike wont even run now. I put a new DRATV carb on, had a few pops, so installed the gasket next to the insulator and all hell has broken loose. Put in a .90 main jet, adjusted slide both ways and it gets worse. Worked both idle and air valves every which way to Sunday. Happens when bike is hot. Going to try and get jets on original carb cleared and reinstall original parts. What else could I be missing.....Used to be able to ride with occasional issues, now I have to walk it up hills. UGH.
