Points slipped?
There are three things, fuel, air, spark. You need all three to run. You can easily check fuel with a can of starting fluid. If it runs on starting fluid you have a fuel issue. Air, ether your dead or there's air, but you can try inspecting the air filter or taking it off. Spark is generally a pretty mysterious thing as it has to be at just the right tiny moment. A weak spark can cause what you describe and it's hard to diagnose. All I've ever found was keeping multiple condensers and switching them out to see if it got better. Not being timed right on can also easily cause this and you can't fix that with a carb.
