With the ignition switch to "ON" the red wire is connected to black. The black with white stripe is not connected to anything
and the green wire is not connected to anything. Now the bike will start, the battery will drain when the engine is not running and the
bike will not stop. The headlight might be burned out . It only comes on when the bike is running.

Subject: [Honda-C70] 1981 passport
Good morning, I have two passports an 81 and 82. the 81 has some electrical issues, I cannot seam to be able to get the lights working when i install a new battery and secondly and more troublesome, someone tried to steal my 81 bike and popped off and disassembled my ignition switch. I tried ordering one straight from the honda dealer however they don't make these parts anymore. I have ordered an after market part but it is apparently taking a slow boat from china, literately, to get here. my question is shouldn't there be a way to close the loop and bypass the key? I tried connecting the wires together and grounding the ground, but that doesn't seam to work. It started fine and ran like a charm, except for the lights, before it was vandalized. Thanks for any advise on how to get my little red passport up and going. Have a great day and look out for the other guy. Jennifer
