I have a 71 C70 with about 6K on her. Yesterday in 90F 30C temps I ran
home from work as sustained full throttle...The bike ran fine and maintained
50mph but it sounded off. When I got home I tried to dial in the fuel
mixture only to find it could not be made better and sputtered and
died...She would not run hot and idle at all... But she did run when
cooled off just not smoothly.
So, I will check the valves and the points and the timing and the plug and
the fuel delivery but what I checked first was the oil once she cooled and
she took a 0.25us qt or about 0.23ltr to bring the oil up to full...
What are the chances I cooked the motor due to oil starvation?
Any other things I could check
Thanks,
Eric
