[Honda-C70] Re: Clutch Adjustment - Whoops

see im in the same boat
when I got my bike the screw was all the way tight, trial and error I figured out the sweet spot, like 1-1/2 turns loose from tight.
Got the book last night and tried what your supposed to do. Now I will say when cold it shifted too smooth and really nice
but once it warmed up it was hard to get into 3rd
and sometimes first
So I would pull over and loosen 1/4 at a time. Then it was just hard to downshift into 1st. So I finally got that figured out.
Now I ended back up where I was all along, I had marked it before any changes
My bike only has under 6000 miles but who knows if any damage or wear was done with having that screw too tight by the previous owner, or maybe because of my weight or riding conditions I need it looser
but I think its there to fine tune the shifting for every machine and the book is more of a starting point, you go from there

I could be wrong but for me as long as it works im fine. I dont want to have to use all my weight to get it into gear and risk bending or breaking something just to keep it set like the book says

I could have lived with it, but thought I would try adjusting the clutch as described in the service manual (loosen lock nut, turn adjust screw ccw 1 turn, then turn cw until you meet resistance, then ccw 1/8 - 1/4 of a turn). Now it's waaay worse. I'm having trouble getting into any gear, and it's popping a lot.
