The correct way to mount a tire is to put the bead of the tire in the rim drop head. That is the section were the rim strip covers
the spokes nipples. Then push the bead 180' opposite. After you have the one side done, you install the tube.
Loosly install the outer nut of the stem, this way you can push the tube away from the rim up into the tire and give you room to
put the bead down into the drop head.
Now the probblem with the Gazelles is the stiff bead and side wall. When using a tire mounting machine, it has a wide finger
to push the sidewall up into the center of the rim and you push the bead in to the drop head. Kinda hard when you are figheting
the wheel and the tire and the tube. A large "C" clamp will help you hold the sidewall to help put it in the drop head.
A mild soap is needed for lubrication. A good tire talc is used to allow the tire and tube to move freely when assembling and during
running. If done right , now tools are required and yes your fingers will be sore!!!

Subject: [Honda-C70] is there some fancy trick to mounting gazelles on the cub?
i've probably mounted 100+ tubed tires on various motorcycles in the
last 15 years working on bikes. i've maybe popped 10 of those tubes on
the first try, just through carelessness.
My mechanical background is that I come from fixing dirt bikes, and mopeds. Dirt bikes have big heavy tires, but there's a lot of slack in the rim. Mopeds usually have light, non-reinforced tires since they rarely go over 35 mph.
As for my C90, well, i've never had the kind of trouble mounting a tire like i did trying to put the gazelles on my C90 cub rims. i popped them 3 tries in a row. The C90 rims/tires are the same as the C50 and C70 ones.
is there some kind of fancy trick ya'll use to put them on with out popping the tubes?
I wasn't using much lube/baby powder but i think i am going to give it a 2nd go tonight, and i'm wondering if anyone has any other hot tips for me, as I try to do this correctly this time, and not wreck the poor tubes any further.
Thanks
Evan
