i have a givi e45n with maybe 200k on it, it's been on like 5 bikes. i was always a little skeptical about the plastic mount parts but it really has stood the test of time well. it's survived a couple crashes, and aside from minor scratches, always done quite well.
it has been on my GS750E, my Concours, my BMW RT1100, my adventure KLR, my Riva 180, and probably on a bandit in a couple months. totally sweet. totally endorsed.
for durability i like the black ABS lines better than the newer painted fancy looking ones.

Take a look at Givi luggage. They lock, are waterproof if you don't over-stuff them, and are easily detachable by using your Givi key. If you have more than one bike, you can swap them from bike to bike in seconds. I have ridden over thirty thousand miles using the Givi system--top quality!
